Leo / Cancer
I am a Cancerian female, and my boyfriend is a Leo. Recently we have
been experiencing problems..I am expecting him to come visit me for a
couple of days, but after I sent the money, I tried contacting him at
home to no avail. The question that I have is whether or not I am
wasting my time where he is concerned or should I wait a couple of more
days before I just walk away from our six year relationship. (to sum it
up is he coming or not, or was it just an illusion)?
The idea of a Cancer woman in love with a Leo man is a classic example of a pair of opposites that find themselves unconditionally attracted to each other. The perspective I'm referring to is Introversion vs. Extraversion. The Crab lives in a shell. She is Lunar, Dark, Withdrawn. Everything goes on within her shell which she must occasionally shed, but only under the most circumspect conditions. Without the shell, her vulnerability makes her an easy mark for predators.
Leo is Solar, Bright, Enthusiastic. He goes to sleep every night...but that is the dangerous time for him. There's no one to talk to. It's a dark and lonely time for Leo.
The Introvert must learn some extraversion. If she never sheds the shell, she'll suffocate and strangle herself as she begins to grow. If she chooses not to grow, she just shrivels up. The Extravert must learn how to be alone with himself and his thoughts. If he doesn't, he's forced to talk all night long and eventually just burns out his genuine enthusiasm like an old light bulb left on constantly.
We human beings hate to do the difficult things that it often takes to grow. We'd much prefer to have our partner do it for us. We often make those unspoken contracts...I'll do the Cancer thing for us if you'll do the Leo thing for us. Sounds like a plan...but it's really the cause of many awful problems. We MUST eventually become acquainted with all of the jobs of the Zodiac. We really must have some capacity for all of them or we risk burning out, suffocating, or worse. We are, after all, more than just a Sun Sign. It's not that we must become the Perfect Leo, etc...that's where birth charts really make sense. They can point out the places that need major work and attention and the places that require a simple working knowledge.
Sending this money to Leo is simply sending him your own energy. The energy you need to learn some extraversion for yourself. Investing any more time in his extraversion is your choice to make. It might seem like Americans are the extraverts of the globe...but at home, i.e. here in the States, they're the most insecure Introverts on the planet. Most of us can be extraverted on the job...where we know everybody, we're confident about our duties, etc. Then it's quite easy to be more like an expansive and enthusiastic Leo. We're actually more often like Gemini, but that's another story. It takes genuine Leo (or Sagittarian) energy to act the extravert in Every situation. My guess is that such people are much more rare than we realize. Leos are schmoozers...but genuinely evolved Leos are a Joy...just as a genuinely evolved Cancer is.
It sounds like it's time to make an extraverted, Leonine decision for yourself. If you've been together for 6 years and haven't learned how...then I would say that the relationship hasn't done you as much good as it could and should have. It's time for you to crack your particular shell because it looks like you're facing an important growing / learning experience.
