have spent the past 16 months on sabbatical or retreat from professional life in
massage therapy. ready to re-enter the field after re-building, strengthening and
consolidating priorities of work and private life.
question has to do with the care i have been giving my father, who is in
the last days of his life. congestive heart failure.
i will return to work in another city, far away from him.
have i already given him the best that i can?
to what extent is my care for him still holding me in this rebuilding process of my own?

I realize this is not quite what you meant when you asked the question, "have I given him the best that I can?"...but the true answer to your question is an unqualified NO. Trust me when I tell you this.
You are such an interesting mixture of Cancer and Libra, I'm sure you'll have no trouble understanding that regardless of your father's situation...you have, have had, and will continue to have an ongoing relationship that does NOT end with physical death. Cancer has the awfully difficult task of redeeming the personal past of a family. As such, you represent the current manifestation of the savior of your ancestors. I say this to impress upon you the fact that your courage and attitude towards your own life and priorities is precisely what is needed to heal the ancestors with whom...as a Cancer, a Libra and an INFJ...you have a profound and intimate relationship. Caring for your father during his illness is simply one element in the continuum. My understanding is clear on this...everything you do in your life...as long as you continue to pursue your Aquarian Dragon's Head...as long as you are true to your own feelings and honest with your Self and your Individuation...Everything...continues to touch and heal not only your father (and yourself) but past and future generations, as well. Everything done well in the present has the capacity to change not only the future, but the past as well!
Your physical care for him in the present is something that is causing your Intuitive understanding of this to grow. Part of it is simply a gift for both you and your father...something of an indulgence. It's that Taurean Jupiter in the 5th House. Let's face it...touch is a JOY, and you certainly have the gift to give...just don't ever fail to make sure that you receive, as well. That's the only real caveat I have. You're meant to bring people in touch with their own dreams and intuition through your work. Your creative Inspiration is an extraordinary resource. I might add that facilitating the grieving process is part of your work as well...so being with dad in this time has been more than just part of the rebuilding process...it has been HIS gift to your new life.
